Varsity Girls Volleyball Season Recap

Hello students and staff of Glenbard North. In honor of this year’s volleyball season coming to an end, let’s look back and review some of the amazing moments varsity had this year. Varsity girls Ava Diaz, ‘24, and Alexandra Hornbogen,’24, talk about their time on the volleyball team here at GN. 

 

The girls had a good year with a record of 7-6 for home games and 2-5 for away games. One amazing game with great stats was the game on Tuesday, October 10th against Wheaton North. The final score was 2-0 and was their only in conference victory. Margaret Almonte, one of our team captains got 3 aces and Emily Cicero, our other captain, had 4 digs. 

 

How long have you been playing volleyball?

Ava D – “I’ve been playing for 10 years.”

Lexi H – “I’ve been playing since 7th grade.”

 

What is your favorite part of volleyball?

Ava D – “My favorite part of volleyball is working to improve everyday.”

Lexi H – “My favorite part is the competitiveness, and playing with the team.”

 

What are you most proud of regarding your time on the team?

Ava D – “I’m most proud of my improvement in defense and how it reflects my performance.”

Lexi H – “I am most proud of transitioning from middle to right side.”

 

What areas of volleyball have you improved the most?

Ava D – “My setting.”

Lexi H – “ I think I have improved on my blocking.”

 

Will you continue playing volleyball in the future? 

Ava D – “ I will most likely continue my volleyball career at Dominican University.”

Lexi H – “ Yes, I will be playing club.”
