You may not know this, but Glenbard North has a shared bowling team with Glenbard West! Even though it is not well known, the bowling team here has had great success. This year, the team plans on having more students try out to join this fun sport that is offered.
Bowling is a sport that can be a little bit competitive but mostly fun! There are 10 frames in one game, and in a meet, there are usually three games played by two teams. The bowling team is actually a big team with around 19 athletes.
A typical day of practice involves meeting at Bowlero in Glendale Heights in order to strengthen skills, prepare for meets, and most importantly to have fun! The coaches of the bowling team are Eric Manuel from Glenbard North and Nick Szarzak from Glenbard West. The team practices five days a week after school until about five o’clock and meets about 1-3 times a week.
Manuel says, “The 2023-24 bowling team is excited to start their season next Monday, October 23, 2023. The Panthers are the defending DuKane Conference Champs and are looking forward to defending their title. Anyone interested in joining the bowling team will need a Gold Card from the athletic office and if you have any questions please see Coach Manuel in the Driver Ed Office.”
The Glenbard North West bowling team hopes to see some new faces to play this wonderful sport.
