Lights, Camera, Action! Glenbard North’s 2022 Homecoming

It’s that time of year again, Homecoming is just around the corner. This is the first time in a couple years that everyone is all together without COVID restrictions. This year the homecoming game will be held on September 23, and the dance will be on September 24. Be sure to buy those tickets before the dance online for $25 or else you have to pay $40 at the door. The theme for the dance is Hollywood, so prepare to strut your stuff on the red carpet at Homecoming.

Before the big day, the Panthers had spirit days. The Student Council proposed the themes, but the student body voted on them. The week started with Cozy Day, Twin Day, and Red Carpet Day. Thursday was Decades Day; students wore anything inspired from the past decades. Finally on Friday, the theme is Black and Gold, but at the football game against the Batavia Bulldogs, wear white for the white out/white lie theme. Let us show our spirit throughout the week with these 2022 Spirit Week themes!

Now to the big question: what are the food options? The food trucks last year provided two savory choices. This year, the people attending will have one savory option, pizza, and one sweet option, Rainbow Cone. So make sure that you bring some extra money, but keep in mind that Rainbow Cone only accepts credit or Apple Pay. The food will be outside along with a photo booth in the newly opened Panther Court, while the dance will be inside the gym. There, dance the night away with your friends! If you need a break from dancing, you can always step out into the hallway or get fresh air in the Panther Court.

Students from any high school up to the age of 21 can attend homecoming at Glenbard North, but they must fill out an Outside Guest Form and receive a guest ticket. While GN students must have their student IDs and their ticket to participate. If you have any personal belongings, such as purses, shoes, or coats, they will be checked into the coat room where you will be assigned a number and will be able to pick it up at the end of the dance.

This year’s homecoming will be an A-list event. Be camera-ready as you make your way down the red carpet!
